Island Grove Village Apartments (IGV) was created in 1972 by Trinity Housing Corporation of Greeley, a separate, nonprofit entity of Trinity Episcopal Church of Greeley, as a long-term outreach program of its Greater Mission to support poor and oppressed people, particularly those underserved minorities in our own community.

Located in Greeley, Colorado's impoverished northeast side, IGV offers affordable housing to nearly 350 residents in 108 one- to four-bedroom apartments.  A warm and welcoming complex, IGV is a U.S. Housing and Urban Development Section 8 multi-family complex where qualifying residents pay no more than one-third of their monthly income toward rent; where children grow and adults prosper in a supportive environment; where the importance of family, education, and health is encouraged through numerous onsite programs and activities; where thousands of families have been given hand, a decent and respectable place to live, and the respect they deserve.

Our many onsite programs are designed to interweave to create a larger fabric of support, encouragement, and empowerment, striving to touch each and every life that passes through IGV’s front office.  Recipient of many local, national, and Government awards, IGV was enrolled in an innovative HUD refinancing program which has enabled us to initiate a 20-year renovation and reconstruction effort sitewide to improve the lives of our residents, as well as to enable cost-saving measures to ensure the longevity, vitality, and sustainability of our continuing efforts.  In the past two years we have been able to accomplish the following:

  • Original building siding was replaced with new and more attractive long-term-wear siding;

  • Air-conditioning was added to each of the 108 units;

  • Doors, hallways, stair treads, and banisters were upgraded;

  • Energy-efficient double-pane windows replaced the original less-efficient windows;

  • Sitewide energy-conscious initiatives were implemented to support area conservation efforts, including low-flow toilets, modern faucets and showers, and improved lawn-watering and maintenance procedures.
